Reportage: Australians celebrate national day with Oz rock

National day receptions are often a showcase of cultural highlights. Some present folk dances while some others have fashion shows boasting unique national costumes. At the Australian National Day reception hosted by Deputy Consul General Ms Janaline Oh on 24 January, 2017, it was the Oz rock that thrilled the guests.

Amplifying the half-nightclub half-national day atmosphere was a cool band crooning songs from the classic pub rock band Cold Chisel and the more internationally recognised Men at Work and more.

Meanwhile, Financial Secretary Paul Chan, the guest of honour, seemed to have forgotten to get himself some new namecards as he was still giving out his old Secretary for Development ones.
