Reportage: New Indian envoy leads national day celebration

Mr Puneet Agrawal hosted his first Indian Day reception as the Indian Consul General to Hong Kong and Macau on 26 January, 2017.

Delivering his welcoming note, Mr Agrawal applauded the Indian community in Hong Kong for their continued efforts contributing to the prosperity of the city, citing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan: “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas (Together with all, Development for all).” The consulate has also recently opened its twitter account.

Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen was the guest of honour. He gave a shout out to the upcoming third annual India By the Bay which will be held between 17 and 25 February with a variety of activities showcasing Indian culture.

Distinguished guests included members from the diplomatic community as well as LegCo president Andrew Leung and ExCo Covenor Lam Woon-kwong.
